Scroll down for English version 👇 Το AUDIOBLAST Cyprus 2026 είναι ένα εβδομαδιαίο φεστιβάλ αφιερωμένο στον ήχο, το ραδιόφωνο και τις υλικές και δικτυωμένες πρακτικές ακρόασης, που ξεδιπλώνεται στον αστικό και ηχητικό ιστό της Λευκωσίας. Ως προέκταση του διεθνούς φεστιβάλ Audioblast, η κυπριακή έκδοση φιλοξενείται στο CYENS Centre of Excellence και εξερευνά νέες μορφές ακουστικής εμπειρίας μέσα από συλλογικές και πειραματικές διαδικασίες. Για πρώτη φορά, το φεστιβάλ ενσωματώνει το felt ως υλικό ακρόασης, μετάδοσης και φιλτραρίσματος, συνδέοντας τον ήχο με απτικές, αρχιτεκτονικές και ενσώματες πρακτικές. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εβδομάδας, καλλιτέχνες, ερευνητές και συμμετέχοντες συνεργάζονται σε ένα συλλογικό εργαστήριο που περιλαμβάνει felt-making, ηχητικό πειραματισμό, συνεχή ραδιοφωνική μετάδοση AM και online streaming, καθώς και ηχητικούς περιπάτους σε διαφορετικές περιοχές της Nicosia. Το θεματικό πλαίσιο «Interference Zone / Hyper-listening» προσεγγίζει την πόλη ως πεδίο παρεμβολών, όπου ιστορίες, σύνορα, συχνότητες και υλικά επικαλύπτονται. Οι δράσεις του φεστιβάλ εστιάζουν σε επαυξημένες πρακτικές ακρόασης, ραδιοφωνικές παρεμβολές, το felt ως ακουστική ύλη και τη συλλογική αντίληψη του ήχου σε υβριδικά περιβάλλοντα. EN AUDIOBLAST Cyprus 2026 is a week-long sound and radio art festival unfolding in Nicosia, Cyprus, as an extension of the long-running Audioblast festival. Hosted at the CYENS Centre of Excellence, the event explores sound creation through live performance, radio art, transmission practices, soundwalks, and networked listening environments. This Cyprus edition introduces felt as a key material of listening, transmission, and filtering, grounding sound practices in tactile, architectural, and embodied processes. Throughout the week, artists, researchers, and participants collaborate in a collective workshop combining felt-making, sound experimentation, continuous AM and online broadcasting, and public soundwalks across Nicosia. Framed by the 2026 theme “Interference Zone / Hyper-listening,” the festival approaches the city as a sonic and material field where radio waves, textiles, infrastructures, and human presence intersect.
