Ελεύθερη είσοδος. --- Scroll down for English version 👇 --- Το προαύλιο του Μητροπολιτικού Ναού Αγίου Γεωργίου στο Παραλίμνι μετατρέπεται το Σάββατο 4 Απριλίου 2026, από τις 10:00 έως τις 16:00, σε έναν ζωντανό χώρο παράδοσης, δημιουργίας και συνάντησης γενεών. Η εκδήλωση «Πνοή στες Ριζές» διοργανώνεται από τη Νεολαία Παραλιμνίου στο πλαίσιο του Φεστιβάλ «Φωνές τζιαι Θύμησες» του Δήμου Παραλιμνίου – Δερύνειας, με στόχο τη διατήρηση και ανάδειξη των ηθών και εθίμων του τόπου και τη γεφύρωση παρελθόντος και παρόντος. 🎟️ Δωρεάν είσοδος. Από τις 10:00 έως τις 14:00 πραγματοποιούνται 12 βιωματικά εργαστήρια και Human Library. Οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να δημιουργήσουν χειροτεχνίες, να γνωρίσουν παραδοσιακά μουσικά όργανα, να δοκιμάσουν να γράψουν δικά τους τσιαττιστά και να ακούσουν ιστορίες του χωριού από ανθρώπους που κουβαλούν μνήμες μιας άλλης εποχής. Πρόκειται για μια σπάνια ευκαιρία επαφής με τη ζωντανή προφορική και πολιτιστική παράδοση της Κύπρου. Καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης λειτουργεί παραδοσιακός «καφενές» όπου μικροί και μεγάλοι μπορούν να παίξουν φιλικό τάβλι και να απολαύσουν κυπριακό καφέ στη χόβολη, σπιτική λεμονάδα και γλυκό του κουταλιού. Στον χώρο θα υπάρχουν επίσης περίπτερα φαγητού, ενώ προβλέπεται διάλειμμα για φαγητό και ποτό το μεσημέρι. Μετά το διάλειμμα ακολουθούν σύντομες ομιλίες και η απονομή βραβείων του Μαθητικού Διαγωνισμού τσιαττιστού και ζωγραφικής «Το Παραλίμνι του τότε στο τώρα», με συμμετοχές από Δημοτικά και Γυμνάσια του Δήμου Παραλιμνίου – Δερύνειας. Organised by the Paralimni Youth Association as part of the Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia's festival «Fones tziai Thymises», the day is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the living heritage and customs of the local community. 🎟️ Free entry. From 10:00 to 14:00, twelve experiential workshops run alongside a Human Library. Visitors can try their hand at traditional crafts, explore traditional musical instruments, attempt writing their own tsiattista (Cypriot improvisational poetry), and listen to village stories shared by people who carry memories of another era. The Human Library format places participants in direct conversation with these living carriers of cultural knowledge — an experience that is as personal as it is communal. Throughout the entire day, a traditional kafeneio (coffee house) is in operation, offering Cypriot coffee brewed on embers, homemade lemonade, and spoon sweets, alongside the option to sit down for a friendly game of backgammon. Food stalls will also be available on site, and a dedicated midday break is built into the programme for everyone to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Following the break, the afternoon continues with short speeches and the award ceremony for the student competition «Paralimni of Then in the Now» — a combined tsiattista poetry and painting competition with entries from primary and secondary schools across the Municipality of Paralimni–Deryneia.
