Παράλληλα, ο Πρωταράς φιλοξενεί το πρώτο σκέλος του European Aquatics Open Water Cup, με αγώνα 10 χιλιομέτρων για ελίτ αθλητές, Special Olympics Open Water Cup 800 μέτρων που προάγει τη συμμετοχή και τη συμπερίληψη, καθώς και αγώνα Masters 3 χιλιομέτρων.
